Joan is a member of two very diverse groups, one business
oriented and the other philanthropic.
BDN (Business Development Network) is for the purpose of
staying connected to other business professionals, discussing business issues and concerns. This group BDN
is an organization formed for the purpose of attracting diverse business industries to share and exchange information in a
non-competitive, fun and light-hearted environment where the natural outcome is business referrals. Joan is a founding member
of this group which has been in operation for more than 5 years.
Joan is also a long time member on a local club
level of Soroptimist International of the Americas. She is currently serving as Vice President of her local
organization after having served for 2 previous years as Treasurer. Soroptimist's mission, an international one, is for
the purpose of improving the lives of women and girls throughout the world and in our local communities. It is philanthropic
in nature and satisfies the GIVING aspect of Joan's personality and her commitment to charitable causes.
In
the past, Joan has been president of several organizations, in particular PWBE (Professional Women's
Business Exchange), a networking organization. She helped grow this club to over 30 women strong from a membership of less
than 8 women. Today it stands strong with the foundation she put into place.
